1
I'd like to try selling privately. How can you help?
You can use our web site to display you own telephone number and description of your home for FREE! If you require the services of our valuers or negotiators please refer to our fees as documented in our 'Pricing Policy' available on the main page.

2
Island Residential is less expensive, but do you give less of a service?
We offer possibly the most expensive (for us, not you!) presentation aids available - 360° virtual visit photography, local media and world-wide advertising, eye-catching 'For Sale' boards and so on.

3
Would it be safer to go to a High Street Estate Agent?
If you sell through Island Residential, it saves a lot of money, you have very little risk regarding any financial outlay and everything to gain. Island Residential is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents and we abide by their standards.

4
Is Island Residential more concerned about selling financial services?
Many estate agencies are now owned by financial institutions. Their true purpose is to use estate agency as a shop window to sell mortgages and insurance. Island Residential may be leaders in technology terms, but we're still old fashioned enough to believe that selling your home should be our main concern.

5
How do we market IR?
As an internet based agency we have deployed the services of www.MDpromo.biz who maintain our presence on the web with over 1000 visist a day during high summer this year. We also deploy local paper and radio advertising as deemed necessary.

6
Can you get me as good a price as a High Street estate agent?
We're experienced negotiators... our aim is to work well for you so you can recommend us to your friends and so increase our market penetration.

7
Who will see details of my property?
Anyone who's looking for a property on the island will find us on the Internet or see our 'For Sale' board or see our advert in local papers. We do recommend the use of a "For Sale" board as it acts as a excellent reference aid for people, enabling them to find out all your property details from the website.

8
Why would you help me sell privately?
Quite frankly, most people soon get fed up with dealing with time-wasters, worrying about advertising costs, and wondering what sort of people they can trust to view. If we have been helpful and honest, saved you money on private advertising, and shown you that we're thoroughly competent, it's logical to assume that you'll ask us to act for you if you decide to use our Extended Estate Agency Services.

9
How can I compare estate agents?
Ask several estate agents to value your property. We hope you choose Island Residential, but we're happier to be chosen on merit rather than just because we're FREE. The way an estate agent promotes your property is extremely important. Our presentation is very expensive (for us, not you!) and includes if required:
  • floor plans where helpful
  • 360° virtual visit photography
  • local media and world-wide Internet advertising
  • No Contract to sign
  • Free valuation
  • No obligation.
Whoever you choose, make sure your agent belongs to a Professional body such as:
  • the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the organisation to which Island Residential belongs
Read the small print before you choose. Most estate agents are honest and professional, but beware of misleading statements, like 'No Sale, No Fee', which isn't the same as 'No Sale, No Charge', some estate agents charge 'out of pocket expenses' - they aren't fees, but they are charges.
